In August 2008, another What Not To Wear episode aired with Glenda from Miami. We were able to get the stylists to try a pair of white jeans (Paris by Svoboda) with a top from Olivia Harper (a mosaic print only available at Lee Lee’s Valise). They were so impressed with “The Look” that they chose it to be used as a Reveal Outfit on the show. They also picked the Polka Dot dress by Igigi that was our most popular dress this summer. Glenda spoke on the show about the difficulty in finding fashion forward clothing in her size and was very happy to find so many choices at Lee Lee’s Valise. Style Tip: You can update Glenda’s look for this season by pairing the Mosaic top (Glenda’s top in reveal outfit #2) with a pencil skirt and boots!

A Few Words from Lee Lee:
This was the first time that the crew from What Not to Wear has filmed at Lee Lee’s Valise (June 2007). We were a new store to them at the time. No one in New York City has a brick and mortar boutique specializing in larger sizes. Let me clear that up. Not just specializing in larger sizes…but specializing in fun, contemporary fashion forward clothing! Cheri is a doll! She had fun during the filming and picking out clothes. She told me that she “Hit the Jackpot”. She chose over a dozen pieces for her wardrobe on DAY 1! When do you see someone able to chose that many items on the first day?
Yes, those of you that guessed Svoboda jeans (Eleanor) that she held up ~ you were right! She did purchase the Cate Wide Leg in Midnight as well. She also purchased many Kiyonna pieces. Did you see in the end when she modeled the Kiyonna wrap dress in the pink and chocolate paisley (reveal outfit #3)? I was so happy to see that they chose one of the dresses from my shop for when she walked outside to meet her family and friends. She was wearing a Tadashi silk chiffon dress and earrings from Lee Lee’s Valise.

Tadashi is so hard to find in the larger sizes. I had a woman yesterday that had an appointment with a personal shopper at Saks….couldn’t find one thing…came to my shop and purchased three dresses! She needed to wear them for her husband’s premiere and is going to walk the red carpet in purchases from Lee Lee’s Valise. I feel like a proud mother! lol.
